10 Years and Counting! A Love Story.

This is our love story in a nut shell.

Once Upon a Time,  just over 10 years ago, a hard working, and very good looking young man packed up his pick-up and left his home in Boise,ID. 

He  headed off on an adventure of a lifetime! 

 As he drove the 2,600 miles to Orlando FL, Ryan soon realized that this adventure was very quiet and lonely. And so he let it be known, to himself and God, that he did not want to make this trip again all by himself. 

The year was 2000 and Ryan arrived in Orlando ready to move some earth. He had volunteered for Wycliffe Bible Translators, who were building their new headquarters in Orlando. 

His job was to dig lakes. 

Dirt was moved and lakes were dug. And he was very motivated to do a great job. 

Especially on the weekends when a certain young lady volunteered her Saturdays to drive truck.  

Ryan met Laura.  

The best truck driver on the site. Well, at least the best looking driver.

 

The two became friends and their relationship "evolved". 

Yes, evolved.

Ryan had asked Laura to be his girl.

She said no, at first.

But to others it was assumed that they were dating. 

Laura had gone with Ryan to meet some 

friends Wes & Jama, and his brotherScott. 

And the the question was asked, 

"How long have you been dating?"

And the answer was given, 

"Well, our relationship just kinda evolved."

On the way home Ryan asked Laura what she meant by her answer. And it was then that Laura told Ryan that she wanted to be his girl. 

That was in March of 2001.

Both were Happy!

Spring turned into Summer. And the first weekend of August, Ryan took Laura  to Idaho to meet his family. 

And he surprised her with a ring!

She said YES!

Over the next two months wedding plans were made and on October 28, 2001

Laura gave Ryan his first kiss.

They were married! 

Thanks to much help from friends and family.

Ryan and Laura worked for six months in Guatemala.

And returned to FL to move their belongings to Boise.

They loaded up his puck-up with a few more things than what he brought to Orlando.

 And Ryan was very happy not to be making that long trip home ALONE.

A few years went by and the happy couple kept busy with work, volunteering at a Crisis Pregnancy Center, leading church youth group and puppies.

Then a day came when they announced that they were going to have a baby.

 Steven Tyler Carey was born on March 19, 2006.

He spent 10 days in the NICU and Laura recovered from an emergency C-section.

 

And just after Stevie turn a year old they announced that baby #2 was on the way.

 On December 26, 2007, they welcomed 

Suzanne Marie Carey.

She was their bilirubin baby.

 Suzie had to be on a glow blanket at home for a week.

She was called Glow Bug.

Time is Flyin' By! 

And these cute kids are growing up.

  

   

 

 

 

 

We are blessed. So very Blessed!

Very thankful for the last 10 years together and looking forward to the next 10 years.
